Student Portal access
This portal is used for scheduling driving lessons, updating phone, address and email information and viewing your current status with EDI. See video tutorial below to learn how to log in and schedule.
A couple important things to know before scheduling:
1) All lesson cancellations must be done via student portal outside of 48 hours to avoid fee.
2) Driving lessons must be a minimum of 30 days apart and must be completed within your contract.
3) Pickup/drop-offs are defined by location. Click on link to the left for more information.
4) Cancellation due to weather - If you do not hear from the instructor then consider the lesson to be
on. We live in MN, so driving in bad weather is all part of the experience :)
5) Stay on track with you recommended training months keeping mind your expiration date.
If you have a last minute issue about your driving lesson (pickup, drop-off change, running late, etc) please contact the instructor directly by clicking on the instructor tab in green as our office is not always staffed. All other corresponding should directly to our office (Janet). 507-993-2708.
Be sure to check out the Driver's Den for training videos, tips, parking-station location and more. A great tool for new drivers. We added a Road Test Exam Prep page - be ready for that Test!

Jan 16th, UPDATE
Well Happy New Year - a welcomed year change for all.
Feb Schedule is posted.
Winter is upon us, please remember our policy is that lessons will happy even with snow on the road UNLESS your instructor contacts you to reschedule due to conditions being unsafe to drive. If you do not hear from your instructor, assume your lesson is going to happen. You can always contact your instructor directly (Top of page, scroll over Why EDI and down to EDI Instructors). Winter is a great time for students to learn and understand traction and how their driving behavior impacts that traction.
Janet is out of the office for two weeks (tested neg, however her brother tested positive). She is working from home until Jan 28th so we do not have office hours at this time.
Stay on track with Driving lesson! We have a recommended schedule for students to follow to help manage the flow of lessons as well as keep a consistent schedule in place for learning. When you go outside those months and schedule a lesson, you are now using a time slot meant for another student. Please help EDI help you by staying on track and being prepared for your lessons. Winter is coming and is usually the season we stay in doors and avoid driving, however this is the time they need to learn! As the colder season approaches, practice practice practice and always assume your lesson is going to happen even if weather is poor. Instructors will call and cancel if they feel it is unsafe to drive.
Driving Lesson Survey: After each driving lesson you should receive an email with a link to write a review on the lesson. If you did not you can use the green button above to do the survey. This helps us to make sure we are meeting the needs of our students & Parents!
Pickup & Drop Off Fee is going up starting January 1st. $10 pickup and $10 drop off, ($20). With business costs going up each year, and the fact that we have been taking a loss by offering this service for the last 10 years, we are choosing to raise this fee instead of raising our Class Tuition cost. We still want the Pickup Option Available to our students (and we are still cheaper than Uber ;) Please note after Jan 1st, this will be the new fee.
REMINDER - The EDI parent class you attended IS NOT the State Supplemental Parent Course to reduce your training hours. We still get requests for a certificate of attendance every so often so this is a reminder we are expecting 50 plus hours logged.

Did you Know?
EDI students are the lowest risk teen drivers in MN? We see some amazing driver's come out of this program because they are committed to becoming their best. EDI provides a solid foundation of knowledge for teens through classroom and road training.
However the truth is, the integrity of the structure on top of the foundation we build is decided by the commitment and involvement of parents. We see the best as well as many struggling students because they are not getting the practice and training needed. We need a solid partnership with parents and teens to create something that will withstand the many challenges ahead. Please use this time wisely and prioritize driving practice.
